Days - Taita Hills Game Sanctuary and Tsavo East National
Park ex Mombasa
Taita Hills Game Sanctuary gives shelter to many animals
because there is plenty of water. Tsavo East is Kenya's
largest National Parks - one of the world's biodiversity
strongholds, home to large herds of Elephants, red from
the laterite soil.
Your safari Itinerary:
Day 1
In the morning you will be picked from your Beach Hotel
and depart by road on safari to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary.
Have lunch on arrival at Taita Hills Lodge. After lunch,
game drive in the sanctuary until sunset, and chances
are good to see lions as well. Dinner and overnight at
Salt Lick Lodge. Salt Lick Lodge is especially memorable
for its imaginative structure. A complex of rondavels
sits on stilts over a series of water holes. The two-storey
towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs, are connected by
open-air-bridges, creating an African fantasy of a medieval
fortress. The lodge has been built with game viewing in
mind - you can see animals in all directions because it
offers spectacular open views.
Day
2
Have an early morning game drive returning to the lodge
for breakfast. After breakfast, continue with the mid-morning
game drive in the sanctuary with lunch at Taita Hills
lodge. Depart after lunch to Tsavo East National Park.
Game drive until sunset on the way to Satao Camp. In Satao
Camp, you experience the real Africa adventure feeling.
Nestled amongst trees overlooking a water hole lies the
Satao Camp, an oasis in the vast scrubland of Tsavo East
National Park. The spacious tents form a semi-circle facing
the water hole, all equipped with electricity from the
camp generator. Dinner and overnight at Satao Camp.
Day
3
Have an early morning game drive, the ideal time so see
a wide range of African wildlife and bird life including
birds of prey in Tsavo East returning to Satao Camp for
breakfast. After breakfast, continue with the mid-morning
game drive in the park until lunch in Satao Camp. After
lunch depart back to Mombasa arriving in the early evening.
Transfer and drop off at your Beach Hotel.
