DAYS - For those with a limited time or budget this safari
offers an excellent combination of Kenya's diverse culture
and wildlife.
Day 1 Masai Mara
After a brief check-in procedure we depart Nairobi, stopping
en-route to view the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Superb
scenery compensates for a bumpy ride as we proceed to
the Masai Mara National Reserve. We pass through the Masai
town of Narok and late in the afternoon enter the famed
Masai Mara National Reserve. Our camp is on the banks
of the Talek River, conveniently located on the edge of
the reserve.
Day 2 - 3 Masai Mara
From our base we explore the park. The Mara is many people's
idea of 'classic Africa', rolling green hills, vast open
horizons and plains stocked with wildlife. Our game drives
give us ample opportunity to search for the 'Big Five'
(leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo), as well
as numerous grazing animals such as wildebeest, zebra,
giraffe. The Mara is also home to good stocks of hippo
and crocodile as well as enormous variety of bird life.
On our last evening we are entertained by Masai cultural
dancers.
Day 4 Masai Mara
Leaving the Mara we drive back through Narok where we
can stop and shop for souvenirs, before continuing across
the plains to Nairobi where our safari ends.
