14 DAYS KENYA WILDLIFE SAFARI AND MOUNT KENYA CLIMB SIRIMON ROUTE

Day 01: NAIROBI:

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport. Met Go to Kenya safaris Staff at the Airport and transferred by our driver / guide to your Nairobi hotel. Use of room is not guaranteed before noon. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at PANAFRIC HOTEL (B/B)

Day 02: NAIROBI – TSAVO EAST:

Check out after breakfast and leave for Tsavo East National Park. Arrive for lunch at the lodge. After lunch and a short siesta, proceed for a late afternoon game drive. Return for dinner and overnight at ASHNIL ARUBA LODGE (F/B).

Day 03: TSAVO EAST – TSAVO WEST:

Early morning game drive prior to breakfast and later depart for the nearby Tsavo West National Park. Lunch at the Camp. Proceed for an afternoon game drive and visit Mzima Springs, Shetani Lava and Chyulu Hills. Return for dinner and overnight at MAN EATERS CAMP (F/B).

Day 04: TSAVO WEST – AMBOSELI:

Breakfast at the camp later drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the Camp. Late afternoon game viewing in the Park. Dinner and overnight at AMBOSELI SENTRIM CAMP (F/B).

Day 05: AMBOSELI – NAIROBI – ABERDARES:

Breakfast at the Camp. Thereafter, embark on your return journey to Nairobi. Lunch at a Nairobi restaurant and later drive to the camp. Afternoon game viewing with visit to the caves. Horseback ride, boat ride for fly fishing, Night Game Walk included. Dinner & overnight at SANGARE TENTED CAMP (F/B).

Day 06: ABERDARES - SAMBURU:

Breakfast at the camp; begin your safari drive to the Northern frontier district via Isiolo to Samburu National Reserve. Lunch at the Camp. Late afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at ASHNIL SAMBURU CAMP (F/B).

Day 07: SAMBURU:

Early morning and late afternoon game viewing drives in the park, with spectacular sceneries and diverse wildlife. Mid morning and early afternoon is at leisure, enjoying a swim at the Camp. All meals and overnight at ASHNIL SAMBURU CAMP (F/B).

Day 08: SAMBURU – MOUNT KENYA (SIRIMON GATE):

Breakfast at the camp; afterwards drive to the base hotel. Relax as you prepare for the climb. Lunch at the base Hotel. Then drive to Sirimon Park gate (2600m). On completion of park entry formalities, begin a 3-4 hour hike through forest. Ascend 700m bypassing the bamboo, rosewood and heather zones to Old Moses camp. The forest and bamboo are home to hundreds of buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks and a plethora of bird species. Dinner and overnight at OLD MOSES CAMP (3300m)

Day 09: OLD MOSES – SHIPTON’S HUT:

A long day leading to the base of the high peaks. Today's trek is largely through the moorlands and the Mackinder Valley, with good views of the main peaks and a brief stopover for picnic lunch. Total walking time is approx. 7 hours gaining 900m in
altitude. Dinner and Overnight at SHIPTON’S HUT (4200m)

Day 10: SHIPTON’S HUT – POINT LENANA TO MACKINDERS CAMP:

Pre-dawn attempt of the summit starts at 0300hrs and you hike for about 3 hours up steep scree slopes and across rugged rocks up to Pt. Lenana (4985m), the hikers' summit. Then down through Lewis Glacier up to the Austrian hut to join to the Naromoru track and descend for 2 hours to Mackinder's camp for breakfast then have the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at MACKINDERS CAMP (4300m)

Day 11: MACKINDERS CAMP – BASE – LAKE NAKURU:

Leaving early, you gradually descend for 4-5 hours through the moorlands and the lower vertical bog up to the Met Station, from where you walk down on a wide dirt road leading to the Naromoru Park gate (2600m) where you meet our vehicle. Depart for the Rift Valley passing via Nyahururu with a brief stop over to catch a glimpse of the Thompson Fall, the highest water fall in Kenya. Arrive in Nakuru in time for lunch at the Camp in Lake Nakuru National Park. Late afternoon game viewing & bird watching drive. Dinner and overnight at SAROVA LION HILL CAMP (F/B).

Day 12: LAKE NAKURU – MAASAI MARA:

After breakfast commence drive via Narok to the Maasai Mara National Reserve to arrive for lunch at the Camp. Late afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner & overnight at MARA SAROVA CAMP (F/B).

Day 13: MAASAI MARA:

Early morning and late afternoon game viewing drives in this Reserve, with spectacular sceneries and diverse wildlife. Mid Morning and early afternoon relaxing at the camp or at the pool. Option of a full day Game Drive with picnic lunch can be arranged. All meals & overnight at MARA SAROVA CAMP (F/B).

Day 14: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI:

After breakfast at the Camp, embark on your journey back to Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi drop off at the Stanley Hotel (use of room is excluded). On arrival in Nairobi transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Intl. Airport for your scheduled international departure flight.
