Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
This morning we depart Nairobi and drive south across the Athi Plains, home of the Masai, via the trading town of Namanga near the Tanzanian border and on to Amboseli. Amboseli is renowned for its large herds of free-ranging African elephants as well as huge herds of wildebeests and many other animals including giraffes, African lions, monkeys, zebras, hyenas and antelope it also has a mixed topography of plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, swamps and marshes. This diversity, along with a long dry season, ensures excellent viewing of the large concentrations of African animals living in this natural habitat.

On arrival, settle in the camp/lodge and time permitting proceed for a short game drive which provides a chance to see rhino, lion, Giraffe, elephant and many other animals with Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak providing a beautiful back drop.

This morning we depart by road to Tsavo West National Park. After check-in and lunch, we proceed for the evening game.
Tsavo West National Park comprises of open plains alternating with savannah bush and semi-desert scrub; acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops and with a permanent water source the Mzima Springs. The spring which produces twenty million liters of water per day form a haven for many different animal species. Hippos and Crocodiles bask in the heat of the day taking an occasional swirl in the water while Gazelles, Giraffes and Zebras wander around the banks among hundreds of chattering birds. Animals to be found in Tsavo are the Fringe-eared Oryx, the Gerenuk and Hunter's hartebeest. The carnivores in addition to Lion, Leopard and Cheetah, include Caracal and Hyena and over 3500 Elephants.
