12 day Ngorongoro Safari
A combination of a kenya and tanzania safari, taking in
the best Eastern Africa locations including Ngorongoro Crater
and Serengeti as well as Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru.
Day 1 - Arrive in the morning at Jomo Kenyatta Airport,
where you will be received by your tour driver cum guide,
and a tour rep to brief you on your safari, over a round
of refreshing welcome drinks, after which you begin your
safari by taking a scenic drive to the world famous Masai
Mara. Stop enroute at the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment
to see the stunning views and to visit a small church that
was built by Italian prisoners of war during the 1940's,
not usually expected in Africa! You will also see the Maasai
people on the way, who live unaffected by modern civilization.
You may stop along the way at small trading centers"dukas"
in Swahili, and enjoy speaking to the locals, some of whom
might know some English. Check in at your safari lodge and
enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch. Later in the afternoon,
you will be taken for a gamedrive in the park. Overnight
at Keekorok Lodge. Dusk at Keekorok Lodge in Masai Mara
, Kenya
Day 2 - Today you will explore the great Masai Mara.
After an early breakfast, set off for your gamedrive. You
may stop and walk at special sites such as the Mara river
where you can see hippo and crocodiles. Return to the lodge
where you can enjoy a refreshing swim before your buffet
lunch. Later in the afternoon, leave for another gamedrive
to explore another part of the reserve. Expert gametracking
skills of your tour guide cum driver. Enjoy a buffet dinner
at the lodge. Evening entertainment sometimes includes traditional
dances and culture talks. Overnight at Keekorok Lodge. [Option
of a packed picnic lunch, so that you can be out in the
reserve all day, returning to the lodge in the evening-
no extra cost.
Day 3 - After early morning gamedrive and breakfast,
depart for Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for lunch. Rest
of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Lake
Naivasha Simba Lodge.
Day 4 - Depart after breakfast for the scenic Lake
Nakuru National Park, a bird and rhino sanctuary, and home
to a variety of wildlife. This lake is famous for its pink
flamingoes and is a World Heritage Site. Arrive in time
for lunch at your lodge. A late afternoon gamedrive will
allow you to see the many wild animals in the park. You
will also be taken to a cliff view point overlooking the

website] Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge.
Day 5 - Enjoy your buffet breakfast before leaving
for Mountain Lodge, situated at the base of Mount Kenya.
This is a Tree lodge for which the Mount Kenya region is
famous, and is uniquely Kenyan concept.The lodge has specially
constructed viewing bunkers from where you can spot game
any time of the day. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch.
Afternoon can be spent viewing the game from a spacious
verandah overlooking the waterhole or by going for a forest
walk for sighting of game and bird life ( optional). Night
game viewing here is a joy-if you are lucky, you could see
an elephant coming to feed near the lodge, only metres from
you. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge.
Day 6 - After an early buffet breakfast, you will
leave for a scenic drive to Nairobi with a gamedrive enroute.
Arrive Nairobi by lunchtime. Complimentary lunch at Carnivore
Restaurant, one of Africa's most famous restaurants. Afternoon
can be spent shopping or a visit to Karen Blixen Museum
["Out of Africa fame"] can also be arranged (
optional ). Excellent buffet dinner and Overnight at Jacaranda
Hotel.
Vie of Ngorongoro Crater
Day 7 - After an early buffet breakfast, depart for
shuttle to Arusha at 8am. Arrive by 2pm. Meet and assist
and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive at the
lodge by lunchtime. Lunch and afternoon gamedrive follows
in this very scenic park with fabulous views over the valley
to the lake below. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara
Serena Lodge.
Day 8 - After breakfast, depart for Serengeti Game
Reserve. Arrive at the lodge by lunchtime. Lunch and afternoon
gamedrive follows. Visit the Ol duvai gorge.This park is
essentially similar to Masai Mara, as they both form one
eco system. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 9 - Full day at Serengeti National Park with
morning and afternoon gamedrive. Dinner and overnight at
Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 10 -After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater,
home to hundreds and thousands of plain animals. Arrive
at the lodge by lunchtime. Afternoon gamedrive in the spectacularly
formed crater in a 4 wheel drive vehicle follows after lunch.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 11 -Full day at Ngorongoro Conservation Area
with picnic lunch.Arrive at the lodge by 6pm. Dinner and
overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 12 - After breakfast, depart for Arusha. On arrival,
take 2pm shuttle to Nairobi . Arrive Nairobi by 7pm. Transfer
to the airport for flight home. End of tour.
